The photograph that made the cover was the one incidence where the flash failed to go off.

We probably took about 150 portrait shots for this album cover. Initially, we wanted to play with shredding a physical photograph but the results of this experimentation never reflected the clean, precise nature of the music. Niamh managed to make something, quite obviously, digitally manipulated feel very organic. The last part of the process was overseen by Alex Synge who was responsible for formatting the album art, which is a sizeable task when dealing with a gatefold 12”.Įarly on in the recording process, we decided that we wanted the album cover to be a portrait, largely founded on the fact that we hadn’t featured in the artwork of our previous records.
